I left the event feeling so empowered that I can do whatever it is I want to. The message was so obvious - “why can’t I?” I have been wanting to do so many things with my life and never really sat down and figured out what was holding me back. Your exercises gave me the forum to identify all of it.

At the end of my life this is what I will say when telling my story: My life changed when Marlene Waldock walked into it. She was a magnetic woman who I knew would make a difference in my life the moment I looked into her eyes and listened to her speak. “Many women don’t ask for what they want”, she said. Her message clear...”Just ask and you will get it.”

On October 20, 2007 I threw it all away. The negativity, the laziness, the excuses. I sat down and wrote my book...I wrote a book that changed the lives of so many in my generation. They began to accept that it was okay to not have it all figured it right away. They didn’t label themselves by their profession...they had goals and a clear destination, but they took time to appreciate the journey along the way. And in doing so, they become well rounded and successful,
but on so many more levels. Marlene empowered me to empower them.

Thank you, Marlene. Thank you for inspiring me to be the best me. I am grateful that you walked into my life. I wish the best for you always...

Thank you for inviting me to share in your wonderful event. The women were exciting at both sides of the stage. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the interview session on how ‘not’ to plan your life, and hearing the stories of other women who have overcome obstacles to achieve success in their personal and professional lives. Marlene, congratulations!! The meeting was truly phenomenal and extraordinary. Not only was I inspired and motivated, but also awed at what women can do and how amazing we can be. The exercises were enlightening and the speakers really opened my mind up to new ideas and the endless possibilities that exist for us. Knowing you, I knew it would be good. But I didn't realize it would be THAT good. Today is my birthday, and thank you for making it such a special day. I'm glad I could spend it with you and all these amazing women. Thank you so much for giving me so much inspiration. Already looking forward to next year.... Thanks!!

Marlene: I so enjoyed Saturday's event. It is very inspiring to hear how women in top positions deal with disappointment outside of their control while still maintaining good family and peer relationships. It was also a little frightening…I'm embarrassed to say that I have no trouble promoting everyone around me but when it comes to thinking of nice things about myself, I'm at a total loss.

Today, the mirror is right next to my printer and your workbook is in my top desk drawer. Still need to work on my master plan, but thank you for giving me an outline and the permission to focus on what is important to me. Thank you again for an informative and mind-expanding day. I have been on a high since Saturday!

I am a principal in the mortgage broker firm RCG Mortgage Solutions, LLC and attended the “Becausewearewomen” event on the 23rd of October and found it inspiring and educational. Thank you for organizing such a well attended event.

I have attended other events similar to this one, including one by motivational speaker Tony Roberts which was quite phenomenal. Simply put however, your event meant more to me because of who was in attendance and not because of whom the anchor speaker was. The topics covered were interesting and well presented. Perhaps they can be espoused on in a smaller more intimate gathering, workshops?
